Decor

A few cozy decor items have made it out of the sewing room and into the world under the label of the Sorcerer's Apprentice. They are all requests from women with wonderful shops. So after much thought (on my part) I made the stuff that they asked for. These are cushions (16"x24" and 20"x20") with feather inserts and blankets (54"x46"). These cozies fit your standard Brown Betty type tea pot (2 and 4 cup sizes). All this decor stuff is made with recycled woollen sweaters just like my fashion line. Most of the sweaters have come from thrift stores (complete with moth hole and often shrunken), or friends passing on long loved old sweaters to have new lives. A grand find was a company that was making retro hockey jerseys, pure wool in the old school colours. They found that they needed to down size and the hockey jersey line was cut. So piles and piles of not yet hockey jerseys made their way to my sewing table. So if you think that a patch of sweater in your blanket or cushion or whatever you got is looking a lot like old school hockey you are not wrong. I get a bit of a kick out of putting more than one team's colours in my stuff, especially if they are rivals.
